Every so often Windows 10 unexpectedly shits down AIMP if it's open and refuses to let me reopen it, instead giving me a message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them." The only way I can get AIMP working again after this pops up is to restart Windows, which is annioying. Why the hell does Windows do this to me and how do I stop it from happening again.?

Update databases, Avast already have fixed this false positive unlike ESET

Try putting the entire AIMP folder hiearchy into Avast's exclusion/whitelist. Avast is a known bad actor with another major music player as well.
If that doesn't solve the problem, AND you don't already have the Portable version of AIMP, switch to the Portable and install it in a folder outside of the Windows "permissions" areas, like C:\AIMP. Whitelist the folder in your AV.

So far, no occurrences of the above problem with the portable version. However, it has started (as of yesterday, 7/19) started freezing on me ten minutes after I open it.

Ok, so after a period of working correctly again, AIMP has once more (as of 8/5 and continuing on 8/6/2021) been freezing up on me, usually after about ten minutes, and not unfreezing. Why?

Still crashing today, once after three minutes' playing time, and again (after a reinstall) after about 9 minutes.

After a few days of not using AIMP, I tried it again, and it froze again after about 10 minutes.

The latest releases of AIMP versions 4 & 5 (build 2254 and Beta 3, build 2320 respectively) are STILL freezing up after roughly ten minutes of playtime! PLEASE fix this bug!

Seems it freezes on attempt to save playlist to app data folder. If you suspend your antivirus, does issue still happens?

Have you tried to scan the disk for errors?
