Title: Sort by Disc and Track Number?
Post by: BlackDynamite on July 09, 2020, 08:31:45
I'm feeling super dumb, but for albums with multiple discs, I cannot figure out how to get my library to sort by Disc and Track number. Instead I can either sort of Disc Number and have the tracks in the wrong order, or sort by Track Number and it will have go "Disc 1 - Track 1, Disc 2 - Track 1, Disc 1 - Track 2, Disc 2 - Track 2" and so on. I've attached two screenshots of what I mean if I'm not making sense.

Is there some magical way that I haven't discovered to have it go "Disc 1 - Track 1,2,3,4,5,6" then "Disc 2 - Track 1,2,3,4,5,6" instead?

use Album (or Year) sort firstly (with CTRL key)

Ok I got it, didn't know you could CTRL Click to sort by multiple things. Thanks, appreciate the help!

I've setup the folders on my hard drive in the exact sort order I want: Artist > Album name. However, I like my artists alphabetized/sorted by last name. For example: William Ackerman is alphabetized by "A" and not "W". So, within AIMP I don't do grouping nor sorting. It works for me, and works very well, but for one thing. Some, not all, albums with more than nine tracks sort Track 1, Track 10, Track 11, Track 12, etc., before track 2. I can't figure out why most albums sort just fine, while some get messed up putting track 10, 11, 12, etc., before track 2. If I click to sort by track, then the tracks on these albums sort fine, but now the sorting of Artist and Album, according to hard drive structure, is gone. I've tried <ctrl> click too, and that doesn't work either.

I've double checked the track sorting inside each album folder, via Windows Explorer, and it's fine. I've compared track tags too, and I can't see a reason some album tracks sort like they should and others don't.

Please help. Thanks!
