Hello
I have seen WebLyrics AddOn in Options.
I have in Options -> Lyrics all 3 items acknowledged.
BUT I don't see any lyrics ... :-(
What have I done wrong?
Can you help me?
Thank you.

Main menu / Information Box with default skin.

I have the same problem as topic starter. Even on Main menu / Information Box with default skin I see nothing. What else can I do to fix it?
-
See the image below. Also, realize that the plugin uses only 2 sources so there will be cases where no lyrics are found to display. Finally, be sure you have it checked in your Plugins list.

I just found out that LyricWiki (lyrics.fandom.com) has been shut down permanently as of 09-21-2020. So, that would explain why you haven't been seeing lyrics, as that was one of the two sources used by the plugin (the other is text-lyrics.ru). Hopefully Artem will be updating the plugin with new source(s) soon.

May be you can suggest what sources to use instead of lyrics.fandom.com?

Thanks Artem for the response! In another player I have found that the majority of my lyrics results come from genius.com--lots of alternative/pop/rock stuff, a real mixed base. The other major recommendation would be metal-archives.com, which besides just "metal" has a huge quantity of cross-over genres; however, it might be difficult to parse as they use some kind of javascript lyrics window. If that one proved too hard to integrate, darklyrics.com, while a much smaller database, has a lot of that stuff too.
Well, that's my own suggestions, I'm sure others will have theirs too!!

Thanks sveakul, that pic helped since I am generally clueless... :'(

No problem, also try replacing the existing aimp_webLyrics.ini file with this one (unzip) with additional sources by @sabadell66.

I played around with the config file of aimp_webLyrics.dll and found a solution that works for most of the songs. Below is the config section for genius.com.
Note that some songs might not be found and you will need another page to load lyrics from. The reason for this is the artist info of the ID3-Tag in the MP3-File itself and how the Genius-URL is built.

You can open and edit aimp_webLyrics.ini in any text editor, for example Notepad, Notepad++, Akelpad etc.

As Choveka said, editing it is easy, finding what code produces results, not so easy.
I and others have benefited from the generosity and skill of other posters here (gr-e, sabadell66, c0der, etc.) in making their own work available for use. The attached aimp_webLyrics.ini contains extra sources they have provided for both lyrics and album art--you can extract it from the zip into your aimp_webLyrics folder and let it overwrite the existing file.
I have commented out the mldb.org source as it appears to be no longer accepting requests. If anyone has any edits or additional sources for the file please post them here!

Thank you for the zip file :)

You are welcome JeepWillys58, I'm happy to give the coders' generosity the widest use.
The way the forum is set up (bi-lingual, "child boards", etc) can make it difficult to navigate. I see that the last version of aimp_webLyrics.ini I posted here (23/12/20) is a bit old. I have attached my latest version to this post, which includes a new major lyrics source (LRCLIB) thanks to Endg4me_.
If you also use it for finding album art (incl. for streams), a couple of major HQ sources from Apple are included as well. I recommend that in Prefs/Player/Additional Information/Album Arts you increase the "Maximum file size for download" to 2000 KB to accomodate these files. "Find on the Internet" should also be checked of course.
Thanks again for your comments!

Hello again my dear friend,
I just downloaded and incorporated AIMP into my installation. Your work was absolutely perfect. I can only thank you for your generous and excellent work.

Honestly, I had stopped using AIMP since Windows 2000 when I first came into contact with the old Winamp, which I really liked at the time because of its features.
Recently, less than a week ago, a friend (inTerActionVRI), a programmer I know from another forum (MDL), saw that I was using Winamp and asked if I knew about AIMP. I told him that I had stopped using it a long time ago. However, his comments made me curious and I went to the site to download it and see how it was. As I told him, I was surprised by the new player. I asked about the lyrics plugin, because I used LyricsPlugin on Winamp, which I think is excellent and has the function of configuring the font and color of the lyrics. So I registered on the forum, because my username no longer existed, and I started searching, and ended up in this topic, which I also recommended to him. I am happy to be using AIMP again and to share it with all my friends and clients. I am preparing to install it on all the devices I provide services to, as the default player, thanks to your generosity. So, I can only say once again...
My GRATITUDE for your indispensable work.
That the Whole bless you all and all yours always.
Best Regards.

Thanks for your compliments; keep in mind though that it's other people's work that made these extra lyric retrieval scripts, I only combined them into one file and made it available here.
A lot of the script people for this plugin post here: https://www.aimp.ru/forum/index.php?topic=57148.0 (https://www.aimp.ru/forum/index.php?topic=57148.0)
Since you just started using AIMP, be sure to try out its many options such as alternate skins, Internet radio stream listening and recording, plugins like "OpenWith", etc. You can even create your own skin, or edit existing ones, with the AIMP Skin Editor application. I used that to make skin text easier to read and to add an audio Spectrum display to the main body (see attachment). Enjoy this great player.

I know my friend that you are not the author of all these configuration combinations, but putting them all together and making them available also has its value. As I say to my friends:
A 1000-page recipe book is worthless if it sits on the shelf unused, so it is better to share some of these recipes than to have them all inside the book full of dust on the shelf.
Thank you for the tips, I will look at the links and learn a little more about this excellent player, which I am already using as a standard after the tips learned here.
God bless you all, always.
Best Regards,
@JeepWillys58

Hello !
I copied the ini file over the installed one but I see no lyrics while playing music.
-
Hello prallo--I assume from the label on the skin that you are using AIMP 3. Because that is such an old version compared to 5.30.x the webLyrics plugin itself is probably not compatible with the new *.ini file. The plugin *.dll file has been modified to do additional tasks such as album art retrieval, and the scripting used within the *.ini file itself has new requirements. Also, lyrics now appear in the window "Information Box", not "Lyrics Box."
I would take this opportunity to update to the current version of AIMP and enjoy new features and better performance all around. There are lots of new skins, etc. in addition to the updated lyrics retrieval/display method now in use.
-
I use the latest version, 5.30.2563 !
Where is the information box ?
Edit:
Found the solution !
Just downloaded the newest portable version and copied it over the old portable one which is strangly the same version.
Then overwrote the ini file with the one provided on page 1.
Thanks for your help !

I'm not sure what you mean by this. What version was the "old portable one"? Why is there still "AIMP 3" on your skin? Where does it show the lyrics now?
I am using the "Charm" skin that came with 5.30.x but made some mods to it and re-arranged the panels. The screenshot below shows where "Information Box" appears in the menu and how the lyrics show there.

Look at my attachment and you see where the lyrics appear.
A while ago I downloaded the portable version and since then I updated AIMP with the update feature.
I downloaded AIMP again today and copied the files into my AIMP folder and overwrote everything.
Then I copied the ini file from page 1 to the folder overwriting the old one.
The number 3 on the skin is there because the developer put it there.
Has nothing to do with the version I am using.

I'm sorry, you are correct, I didn't scroll far enough to the right to see it! I'm glad all is OK now.
I knew the skin maker put "AIMP 3" on it but thought it might reflect you were using the wrong download folder when you updated.
-
Could you add KUGOU and QQMusic Link to aimp_webLyrics.ini ,thanks for top.

Hello,
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get lyrics to show, only general info about the artist.
